Dr. Amy French grew up in Northeastern California and moved to Reno to earn her biology degree from the University of Nevada. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from UNLV, then completed a general practice residency at Denver Health in 2011. She went on to complete her specialty training in periodontics at the University of Colorado from 2011 to 2014.
Dr. French is Northern Nevada’s first female board-certified periodontist and is known for delivering advanced, compassionate care. In 2024, she founded the Nevada Premier Dental Forum, affiliated with the Seattle Study Club, to provide continuing education for local dentists. She also lectures within the community and is committed to ongoing education.
Outside the office, Dr. French enjoys time with her family, photography, and yoga.
Dr. Sima brings over 15 years of experience as a periodontist and implant surgeon to Sierra Nevada Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. Following his periodontics residency at University of Toronto he spent 7 years at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and The Forsyth Institute providing periodontal and oral surgical care, conducting cutting-edge research and teaching. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, published over 30 research publications and holds multiple awards for excellence in clinical, research and teaching activities.
Dr. Sima enjoys the beautiful outdoors in the Reno-Tahoe area, traveling and spending quality time with family and friends. He is passionate about photography and environmental conservation.”
Dr. James K. Burnham earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee in 1999 and completed advanced training in Periodontics at The George Washington University and the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in 2007. He specializes in surgical and non-surgical periodontal care, bone and soft tissue grafting, and dental implants, and is licensed in Nevada to provide IV moderate sedation.
A proud Navy veteran, Dr. Burnham served over a decade before running a successful periodontal practice for 14 years. He is a Board Certified Periodontist and Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He has lectured nationally and internationally and remains active in leading dental organizations.
Originally from Mississippi, he enjoys Reno’s outdoors and spending time with family, hiking, skiing, and traveling.
